About the job
The Core Developer and Developer Relations (DevRel) team's mission is to help developers worldwide deliver the highest-quality, most trustworthy, and broadly accessible experiences to delight users everywhere. We're excited to empower developers in growing the global digital economy and lifting their local communities. We do this by enabling developers to address the full spectrum of their development challenges—reliability, accessibility, maintainability, usability, security, scalability, extensibility, and more. When developers build experiences that overcome these concerns, supported by Google's scale and reach, they enable more people to participate in the digital economy. By engaging and supporting developers, we believe their ingenuity makes Google work better, for everyone and at scale.
This team’s goal is to offer productive programming languages for development across platforms, paired with the most flexible execution runtime services for any client or backend infrastructure.
As a Senior Development Director, you will help shape the future of Google’s Frameworks and Languages offerings. You will lead a team of software development, product management, and UX professionals who build and deliver excellent software development frameworks, languages, and related tooling. You will play an instrumental role in enabling developers to build beautiful, secure, scalable, and simple experiences for their users.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
